Show up for Duty!

myclassacts.blogspot.com

When a man enters the army, he can work doing many things:

Mechanic
Infantry soldier
Tank operator
Heavy equipment operator
Engineer
Computer operator
Cook
Commander
Fuel handler
Truck driver
Sniper (Trained assassin)
Air born ranger
Missile guidance operator
Supply clerk
Weapons specialist
Explosive ordinance
Aircraft tower operator

But the main thing to remember is he is first, a soldier!!

You can occupy and make money while in the services, but you must always remember this: you are FIRST a soldier!

We are in a spiritual warfare. This is a battle.
This warfare is for called committed soldiers.

A soldier is a soul winner.
A soldier disciples/trains other soldiers
A soldier ministers and builds up members of the batallion.

One principle that attracts the world to us the most, is the fact that we stick up and defend each other (camaraderie) or at least that’s how it should be!

Warfare.
Every soldier needs to be in their prospective positions;
Whether offence and defense.

Regardless of what talent(s) we have…those are secondary to our first call…that of a soldier.
-waging war on the enemy.
Defending and protecting other soldiers.
Watchful
Prayerful

Soldiers need to look and act like soldiers.
We have army fatigues /uniforms to identify
whose side we are  on! (holiness)

Soldiers cannot be sidetracked.

We must not get concerned with what is going on back at base, at night in the bunks, or the mess hall.
War takes concentration.
War takes efforts of great strength of which we rely on God for.
We listen for commands (from Him!)

Soldiers need to show up for duty!
What your absence says about you:

It makes people question your commitment.
It makes people think you make this warfare -of little concern.
It dampens moral. It weakens people’s faith who are watching you.
It is discouraging.
It sets a bad example to others to follow the same actions.
It gives the enemy (devil) more power of your batallion.
Absenteeism begats absenteeism.

Our presence is needed in the church!
The last thing a soldier needs to be is AWOL!

An AWOL soldier has an effect on a unit.  A soldier who has been AWOL for any period of time becomes “civilianized.”  He has normally decided that he no longer wants to be in the fight and he is a cancer within the unit.

You are considered AWOL if you are absent for 30 days.

See ya in church on Sunday?
